Film Photography

Shooting a roll of film, opening the canister in complete darkness, and guiding the delicate strip onto a reel by touch alone is a ritual every photographer should experience. After developing the negatives and allowing them to dry overnight, the anticipation builds toward selecting the single frame worthy of print. In the darkroom, where the air is thick with chemicals and quiet focus, I hand-print each image, learning the origins of “burn” and “dodge” long before applying them in Photoshop. Only after this intimate, tactile process do I digitize the final work. It is this tangible journey through film photography that I cherish most.
